Last weekend saw the amazing International Magic Convention, London’s number one magic convention, where guests enjoyed a fantastic selection of International Magic Exhibitors, gala shows and magic competitions.

Now in its 39th year, the magic convention once again attracted some of the best names in the world of magic to London, as it has since 1972, with many of them making their debut UK appearance.

Our team is still covered in face paint this morning following a heart-warming charity event for The Variety Club Children’s Charity, hosted by Magicians.co.uk.

The children were treated to an action packed day of magic workshops, balloon modelling, plate spinning, face painting and many more exciting treats at The Magic Circle Headquarters.

The events grand finale was a children’s magic show featuring some of the UK’s top children’s entertainers, who all happily donated their time to help the worthy cause. With hilarious hosting by Rob Page, witty mindreading from Martyn Rowland, the juggling antics of Johnny Slap, bizarre body magic from Justin Monehen and clowning by James Freedman, there were lots of beaming smiles from the delighted children.

We were very pleased to receive these magical words from the organiser:

“Thank you all so much for a fantastic afternoon, I have already taken a call from one of the community team leaders thanking all involved for a wonderful time! On behalf of Young Variety, thanks, thanks again!!”

Thank, i got your mail with the content well noted,i will be happy to inform you that i have both the wooden and the cheaper plastic model and the colour is black and red and the sprottle nib is very intact and very new as well you have nothing to worry about ok.

Adobes new product is really magic. This week a magician, mindreader and magic product presenter helped Adobe to launch their new product Acrobat X; an amazing evolution of their software that allows easy secure electronic collaboration.

The product launch took place on the top floor of the Gherkin at 30 St Mary Axe and we were asked to add a touch of magic to the event.

Corporate magician and pickpocket James Freedman gave an entertaining presentation that highlighted the product’s key features. Then James and mindreader Martyn Rowland performed sleight of hand magic close-up for the guests, using specially designed branded magic with Adobe’s key messages and branding cleverly built in to the presentations.

Congratulations to Peter Wardell on winning The Magic Circle Stage Magician of the Year competition on Sunday. The competition which is held every two years, is open to all 1,500 members of The Magic Circle worldwide and the final, hosted at The Magic Circle Headquarters – London’s most magical venue, saw eight acts including Nicholas Einhorn, James Freedman, Edward Hillsum and Richard Pinner compete for the coveted title and trophy.

Peter Wardell was the clear and outstanding winner and in a unanimous decision of the judges deservedly won the prize. He is the first magician in the history of the society, to be awarded both ‘The Magic Circle Stage Magician of the Year’ and ‘The Magic Circle Close-Up Magician of the Year’ titles.

President of The Magic Circle, Jack Delvin congratulated Peter and highlighted his achievement describing the final as the best magic show he had ever seen.

Gosh! We’ve never seen so many engagement rings as we saw last week at The National Wedding show… but our Pickpockets and Wedding Magicians were all on their best behavior.

Last week Magicians.co.uk hosted an event for ADVA Optical Networking at The Magic Circle Headquarters.

Our magicians and entertainers performed close up magic for guests before James Freedman gave an engaging speech about persuasion and how the psychology of magicians can be applied to business.
