Magicians launch New Mobile Smartphone
We’ve been busy for the last few months adding a magic touch to the launch of a new mobile smartphone. In association with our colleagues at Magic Management, we’ve been working with Samsung to help launch the new Samsung Galaxy SIII. The SIII is ‘designed for humans, inspired by nature’ and it’s natural interface means that using it can seem like real magic. Using Magical Innovation we created a tailored presentation that communicates the key features of the device in a memorable and interactive way.
Our team of magicians delivered over 120 presentations to consumers at 9 key sites in London including Westfield shopping centre London, Westfield Shepherd’s Bush, St Pancras International and the Olympic Park during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Simon Drakes House of Magic

Last week Magicians.co.uk was invited to visit The House of Magic; an enchanting venue with a magical twist and undoubtedly one of London’s best kept secrets!
The evening combined superb close up entertainment, a magnificent stage show and delicious cuisine but what set The House of Magic apart from the rest is the engrossing and cleverly designed theming; from intriguing automata to paintings on the wall that come to life when you pass them.
Created by star of Channel 4’s ‘The Secret Cabaret’, Simon Drake, this permanently themed 4,000 sq ft Victorian mansion is hidden away at a secret Central London location.
The House of Magic is available for private parties, corporate events, product launches and regular public events. For more detailed information visit The House of Magic website here.
TV illusionists: the magic ingredient
Any magic enthusiasts will find this article a great read; with some interesting observations and a solid overview of the relationship between magic and television. Excerpt:
From Tommy Cooper to Paul Daniels, David Blaine and David Copperfield, magic has been a perennial of television. But like the magicians themselves, TV needs to move with the times and constantly revise how it presents their craft to the viewing public.
Derren Brown has set the bar high with his psychological games and high-profile, sometimes controversial, stunts; while on the big screen, the Harry Potter franchise and films like The Illusionist and The Prestige demonstrate an appetite for magic and its ability to capture an audience.
But while Dynamo’s popularity has boosted a small channel, some recent attempts at capturing magic’s sparkle have fallen flat, most notably the more traditional Saturday primetime formats. Penn And Teller: Fool Us on ITV1 and BBC1’s The Magicians will not be returning, leading some to question whether magic’s appeal is sustainable.
Magicweek.com’s Duncan Trillo also commented ”for magic to really succeed on television for an adult audience, production companies need to stop hedging their bets with the multi-magician type shows… and understand that magic is in fact not the star of a magic show, but rather the magician presenting it.”
