James Freedman
Dubbed ‘The Man of Steal’, James Freedman is widely acknowledged as one of the world’s best pickpocket entertainers, equally at home teaching the cast of Les Misérables the noble art of street theft as he is performing in front of audiences worldwide. No wonder then that his hands have been insured for £1 million.
James Freedman - Biography
Twice winner of The Magic Circle Close-Up Magician of the Year award and a Gold Star member of The Inner Magic Circle, James is also a gifted magician & illusionist and an expert in the art of persuasion. Fusing his considerable performance skills with his knowledge of business (he once worked as a chartered surveyor) he is in great demand as an advisor, speaker and educator.
It's his specialist knowledge as a pickpocket that means James is often sought by police forces and other security professionals to train officers and in 1999 James created headlines when he successfully picked the pockets of senior policemen based at New Scotland Yard.
James has stolen from royalty, heads-of-state and celebrities throughout the world and is the only person to have successfully picked the pockets of the Mayor of London, the Chancellor of the Exchequer and the Governor of The Bank of England.
Taking his 'art of persuasion' into another world, James qualified as an auctioneer, and has raised more than a million pounds for good causes.
